Reverse Osmosis (RO) employs a semipermeable membrane, where the nanofiltration comes with pores 0.0001 micrometres in size (approximately 5,000 times smaller than the bacteria). It allows only the passage of water molecules but not the majority of contaminants such as bacteria, heavy metal and mercury. Ultimately, you can obtain the perfect filtration with purest water at the turn of tap and flush the impurities down the drain.
Common types of water filters include ceramic filters, hollow fiber filters, and Reverse Osmosis semi-permeable membrane filters.
